Saptarishi is a 5th year S.J.D. (doctoral) candidate at Harvard Law School. His research focuses on international environmental law, legal and environmental history, and issues related to technology and society. Saptarishi arrived in the S.J.D. program by way of the National University of Juridical Sciences in India, American University’s Washington College of Law, and Harvard’s own LL.M. program. From 2006 to 2010 he was an associate at Radon & Ishizumi in New York where he negotiated pharmaceutical agreements, assisted with constitution development in Nepal, and environmental policy-making in the Caucasus. Saptarishi has received research and advocacy fellowships from the Public International Law and Policy Group, the Center for International Environmental Law, Brown University’s Watson Institute for International Studies, and most recently from Harvard Law School. Outside of work, Saptarishi spends his waking hours hoarding and reorganizing used books, walking sticks, and animals (three cats and a dog). And writing fan-fiction about said animals. Naturally.
