Matt is originally from St. Cloud, Minnesota, USA, and is a graduate of Rice University, Houston, Texas, USA, where he studied electrical engineering and served as the school mascot, Sammy the Owl. Matt spent two years working as a software consultant in the energy industry before beginning his studies at Harvard Law School in 2010.
